Trevor and I were watching this movie one night while eating dinner and he made the suggestion that we should cosplay from it. This is one of those Disney movies that we both love and feel is totally under rated. Of course this was the perfect character for Trevor since it gave him an excuse to work out like crazy.
When it comes down to it, this costume is basically a pleated skirt and sleeveless shirt. I went with a dark orange cotton poly blend for the top and skirt. I used a school girl pattern to make the shirt and I added an elastic waistband so that it could have a snug fit. Between the pleats I used a brown fabric marker to darken the fabric and give it shading. The top took a lot of reworking; I originally had it lined with craft fuse to make it stiff and it just kept the shirt from laying naturally. Since that wasn't working I ripped all of it out and lined it in fleece so that it would have some stability but still be easier to wear. The collar and arm holes were trimmed in costume vinyl and I used a flat gold trim for the front details. The same brown marker from the skirt was also used to add lines to the top.
I purchased a pair of flip flops from Target and used the soles as the base for the sandals. Costume vinyl was used to make all of the straps and it's held together with a good amount of E6000 glue. The same vinyl was used to make the wrist cuffs and the belt; the emblem on the belt is just layered pieces of foamie. For the cape I used extra satin from my Jill costume and I made the brown buttons out or foamie
