MacCoy
Dance Central
"It's your boy D.J. MacCoy!"
- First worn at MegaCon 2012
- This costume cost about $45
- I worked on this for about a week
This character was one that Trevor always joked about when he played Dance Central. He was goofy and crazy looking but we always thought he was cool. It came to be a natural choice for Trevor to cosplay as when we decided to do a group. The shirt was a little intimidating for me but after some planning I had it all figured out.
This costume was so over the top looking but I think it ended up turning out really well. I purchased two blue shirts from Target and I literally cut them in half. I sewed the two together and then added the v-cut to the front. Then I faked the zipper by gluing it down the center of the shirt half opened. The red collar was made from red cotton fabric and sewed onto the shirt. I used the same red fabric with some white and added the stripes to each sleeve. The khaki pants also came from Target and I ordered the glasses off of eBay. The head band and arm band were made out of red ponte knit and the shoes Trevor already had. We borrowed a wig from our friend Peter and Dee styled it perfectly. Trevor really owned this look and had the look and personality of the character nailed!
