The Bride
Kill Bill
Kill is Love
- First worn at Florida SuperCon 2006
- Price wise I spent $65
- Worked on this for a month
I immediately put this costume on my list the first time I saw the movie, it just managed to slip back for a while. Once Halloween rolled around I figured it would be a good time to make it and my friends and I put together a Kill Bill group. The Bride is just amazing, I mean who could not watch that movie and just be in awe of all that action.
After a very very long search of stores and on line stores, I managed to find a yellow tracksuit at Wal-Mart. It is definitely on my list of "very lucky cosplay finds", the original suit was a pale yellow so I dyed it a darker shade. I purchased some black ribbon and glued that along the seams, originally I used bias tape but it just wasn't wide enough. The shoes were a real challenge since I couldn't afford the actual Onitsuka Tiger sneakers that Uma wears in the film. I found a very similar pair of sneakers in Target that were originally brown so I sprayed them with some gray primer. Once that dried I used yellow and black air brush paint and I spent a lot of time working on making them look clean. I decided not to soak this costume in "blood" since yellow and red mixed usually looks orange in photos.
