Padme Amidala
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
Aggressive Negotiator
With the buzz going for the release of Episode III it seemed like everyone, including myself, had Star Wars cosplay on the brain. I decided that it would only be fun to attend the premiere in costume, so I chose my favorite of Padme's costumes. This outfit was a lot of fun and I had some good times wearing it, and I wore it to a lot of shoots, conventions and twice to the movies.
This was another costume that got it's start at the thrift store; I purchased the shirt, pants, boots and belt all in the same store. The pouches of the belt and the arm bands were both made out of fun foam, for the pouches I covered those in felt and I painted the arm bands silver.
The most work done on these costumes was on the shin guards that go over the boots, those were a challenge. I tried the best I could to replicate the movie design, and I think they turned out great. At first I sketched them out and made a mock up out of paper, after bouncing a few ideas of off a friend I came up with a good design. It was made out of fun foam and I did a few layers in order to get the right look. I attached straps and made them wrap around the boots so it was a separate piece. The boots as well as the shin guards were painted with spray paint that I also used on the belt. To get the hairstyle Padme has I put my hair in a pony tail and then I wrapped sections of my hair around pipe cleaners. Once that was done I was able to flex the hair covered pipe cleaners and shape them how I liked.
For the ripped shirt version I just took a white shirt out of my sisters closet and I tore it apart. Removed the lover half of the shirt, took off a sleeve and I added the rips along the back
