Maybe four years ago it was "new" to cosplay as a SnJ version of a Naruto character but by now I think everyone knows the drill. Pretty much I was a huge Itachi fan girl and cosplaying as him just really wasn't that appealing to me, so I opted to do a "cute" version instead.
Like most of my early costumes I got everything I needed for this one from the thrift store. The shirt I hacked in half and I added the collar to make it look more like Itachi's cloak. The collar is lined with red felt in order to make it stiff and stand up. I then added red bias going down the front around the collar and along the bottom of the shirt. For the skirt I also cut that in half, a little too short I might add, and I used the cut off fabric to make the leg warmers. The skirt is also lined in red bias tape and my belt is made from the same felt as the collar. The clouds are really what make this costume, I love their simple yet fun design. I traced them off of my computer monitor and I spent a while cutting them out of red felt and lining them in white. Their actual placement was difficult because I didn't want them too spaced out but at the same time I didn't want them too close together. Once I found a good spot for them I just hot glued them onto the shirt and skirt.
The look is completed by black thigh highs, sandals and my leaf village head band. I absolutely love this costume but it has long since been retired.
