I am not going to lie, I had a dream that I made this costume so when I woke up that day I decided to go for it LOL This was my first time making a full body cat suit out of lycra spandex and it was a complete challenge, but it really helped set me up with the knowledge to make Batgirl and Jill.
This costume was all about the pattern and I ended up finding the perfect one on-line. I purchased about two yards of blue lycra spandex fabric from Jo Ann's and I also got some in black. It was all about trial and error as I was trying to get this costume to fix me properly. It was really difficult to find good shots of the detail work so I really tried my best to match everything to the movie costume. I pleated the details going down the side of the costume so that it looked like a line of small square panels. For the black lines going down the front, side and along the arms of the costume I just sewed on some bias tape. The "4" logo was made out of craft foam and I made it into a pin so that I could move it around and adjust it. The boots are the same ones that I use for just about every costume I have and I purchased the gloves at a local costume store.
This was the first time I ever wore contacts for a costume and I was so happy to finally use them, they really helped with the look of this costume. This was also the costume I wore to Preview Night of my first Comic Con so it has special meaning for me. I kept getting asked where Mr. Fantastic was and I just told people that I ditched him to go to the con. I only wish that I could have used a better wig that didn't have bangs but sometimes you make due with what you have.
